Neuropathology webinar series episode 2
…TIMESLOT: Thursday 09 April 2026, 16:00 CEST
…MAIN TITLE: Electron microscopy, immune-electron microscopy and molecular biology for nerve : value and technical approach
…PRESENTERS: Dr. Mathilde Duchesne & Dr. Pauline Chazelas (CHU Limoges, France)
Pr. Mathilde Duchesne, MD, PhD, is a pathologist (specializing in anatomy and cytopathology) at the University Hospital of Limoges. She participates in the diagnosis and study of tissue and cellular alterations, thus contributing to patient care through precise pathological analyses. Specializing in neuropathology, Pr. Duchesne plays a key role in the identification and characterization of a wide range of diseases, including tumors, inflammatory conditions, and rare diseases, with a particular expertise in peripheral neuropathies. Her work supports clinical decision-making and the multidisciplinary management of patients. In addition to her clinical activities, she contributes to research at the NeurIT Research Unit (UR 20218), and teaching in her field, participating in collaborative projects and advancing knowledge in pathology, particulary in nerve biopsy an electronic microscopy. She is also the national referent in nerve biopsy within the FILNEMUS rare disease network.
Dr. Pauline CHAZELAS, MD, PhD is a medical biologist at the University Hospital of Limoges (CHU Limoges), in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Laboratory, France. She is involved in the diagnosis and molecular study of hereditary peripheral neuropathies.
In addition to her clinical activities, she contributes to academic and scientific work within molecular biology at the NeurIT Research Unit (UR 20218), Limoges University.
