Isabella Moroni
Isabella Moroni earned her MD and specialization in Neurology at the University of Milan, then she moved to the Fondazione IRCCS Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta, working in Child Neurology – Department of Pediatric Neurosciences, where she is the Head of Infantile Metabolic, Degenerative and neuromuscular Unit .
Clinical activity is mainly dedicated to genetic and acquired neuromuscular diseases including myopaties, neuropathies, mitochondrial and metabolic disorders in pediatric age.
Main research areas include: deep phenotyping and definition of natural history of rare and ultrarare diseases; development and standardization of outcome measures, disability and quality of life instruments specific for pediatric age ; observational and interventional trials in neuromuscular disorders
She collaborates with several National NMD Networks, as Board member of the Italian Association of Peripheral Nerve Disorders, and member of the Italian Association of Myology, and also International Networks as Board member of the CMT-related disorders of the Peripheral Nerve Society, and as co-representative of the ERN-RND for Istituto Neurologico Carlo Besta .
Educational activity include teaching and tutoring for students of University School of Medicine and School of specialization in Child Neurology.
