Kristin Ørstavik, MD, PhD is a senior consultant in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology. She is head of Section for rare neurological disorders, Department of Neurology, Oslo University Hospital. She has long experience in following patients with different neuromuscular and mitochondrial disorders. Research interests are specifically centred around myotonic dystrophies, cardiomyopathy in NMD and multidisciplinary care. She has taken the initiative to establish the Multidisciplinary management and care work-group in Euro-NMD together with Norwegian colleges.
Aline Schick, is a teacher in France and suffers from SMA (spinal muscular atrophy): tetraplegic, with reduced lung function. She is the mother of a little girl and studied disabled women’s pregnancies. She wrote a book about her pregnancy experience called «Une grossesse ordinaire» and a children’s book about the relationship between a mother who is a wheelchair user and her daughter called « C’est MA Maman ». She defends disabled people’s rights to be parents.
Marc Dommergues is a professor in gynaecology and obstetrics at Pitié Salpètriere, Sorbonne Université. He has worked 20 years in prenatal care and then 20 years focusing on pregnancies in disabled women or those with severe chronic disorders. He is now devoted to helping female survivors of violence in hospital structure that he created.
