Simone Birnbaum

Simone Birnbaum works as a research physiotherapist in the Neuromuscular Physiology and Evaluation Laboratory at the Institute of Myology, Paris, France. After completing her physiotherapy degree at the University of Melbourne she practiced as a physiotherapist in various settings in Melbourne and London before relocating to Paris where she continued clinical practice before moving towards clinical research. Her doctoral studies focused on exercise training in autoimmune myasthenia gravis. Simone is passionate about improving patient care and research translation. She is involved in the clinical evaluation of adults enrolled in natural history and clinical trials. Her areas of research include patient-report measures, the evaluation and implementation of exercise interventions, physical activity monitoring, fatigue and dyspnoea in autoimmune and inherited neuromuscular diseases.
