Dr Riccardo Zuccarino

Since my residency I have been involved in rehabilitation management of neuromuscular diseases. I was introduced to the field of hereditary neuropathies and I collaborated to design several rehabilitation studies devoted to Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. In the 2018 I have got a fellowship at the University of Iowa in the Prof. Shy Unit for two years. At the moment, I am determining and validating the quality of the Italian translation of CMTPeds, CMT-FOM, and CMT-HI, and developing new outcome measures. I am also focused on the improvement of choice and prescription of ankle-foot-orthoses (AFOs) for CMT patients, understanding compliance habits and satisfaction with their AFOs. Efforts to improve AFO device comfort and appearance would be beneficial to informing and advancing AFO development and improving clinical care.
