Marianne Nordstrøm

Marianne Nordstrøm is a Norwegian clinical dietitian and senior researcher specializing in nutrition for individuals with rare disorders and intellectual disabilities. She holds a PhD and is affiliated with both the Frambu Resource Centre for Rare Disorders and Oslo University Hospital.
Throughout her career, Dr. Nordstrøm has focused on the nutritional challenges faced by individuals with intellectual disabilities and rare neuromuscular disorders. Her research encompasses various aspects of clinical nutrition, including the development of health-promoting diets and the role of nutrition in managing specific conditions.
In addition to her research, Dr. Nordstrøm has contributed to the European Reference Network for Neuromuscular Diseases (EURO-NMD), where she serves as the chair of the Multidisciplinary Management & Care group.
Dr. Nordstrøm has also co-edited the book “God mat for kropp og helse” (“Good Food for Body and Health”), which addresses nutritional work for individuals with developmental disabilities. This publication aims to provide practical guidance on promoting healthy diets within this population.
Her work has been widely recognized in the field, with numerous publications and citations highlighting her contributions to understanding and improving nutrition for vulnerable groups.
