Dr Juliette Foucher
- Post-doctoral researcher

Juliette Foucher is a postdoctoral researcher at Karolinska Institutet whose work focuses on improving precision medicine approaches and clinical trial readiness in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Her research combines neuropsychology, biomarkers, neuroimaging, and clinical phenotyping to better understand disease heterogeneity and to support more personalized therapeutic strategies. She has a particular interest in cognitive and behavioural symptoms in ALS, and in how these factors may influence participation, retention, and equity in clinical trials. Before joining Karolinska Institutet in 2020, she spent seven years in Canada, where she completed a Master’s degree in Neuroscience and worked in ALS clinical research at the Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital in the team of Angela Genge. She obtained her PhD from Karolinska Institutet in 2025. Her doctoral thesis examined the relationship between cognitive and behavioural impairment and access to ALS clinical trials, advocating for a more inclusive approach to research participation. Alongside her scientific work, she has coordinated multiple ALS clinical studies and contributed to several international collaborations, including as co-founder of the International Network for ALS Research and Care (INARC), liaison within TRICALS, and participant in European and global ALS initiatives. Her current postdoctoral research focuses on multimodal subtyping of newly diagnosed ALS through integrated proteomics, neuroimaging, and neuropsychological profiling.
