Jörg B. Schulz is a professor of neurology and chair of the Department of Neurology, Uniklinik RWTH Aachen, including the clinical and research unit for patients with neuromuscular disorders. Prof. Schulz received his MD at the University of Cologne Medical School in 1991, followed by training in Neurology and Neuroscience at the Department of Neurology in Tübingen. He was DFG Research Fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Boston, head of the Neurodegeneration Laboratory, Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research and University of Tübingen from 1998 to 2004 and director of the Department of Neurodegeneration and Restorative Research, CMPB, University of Göttingen, from 2004 to 2008. Prof. Schulz received the Venia Legendi for neurology at the University of Tübingen in 1999. His major research are mechanisms of degeneration in neurodegenerative disorders including neuropathies.
