Professor Elena Pegoraro
Dr. Elena Pegoraro, is an associate Professor of Neurology at the Department of Neurosciences, University of Padova, Dr. Pegoraro has obtained her medical degree at the University of Padova in 1987. She completed her neurology residency at the University of Padova in 1987 and in genetics in 2002. She earned her PhD in Neurological Sciences at the University of Verona in 1996. She was visiting physician at the Montreal Neurological Institute McGill University in 1990, Research Associate from 1992 to 1996, and Research Instructor from 1996 to 1998 at the Department of Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry of the University of Pittsburgh. She joined the Faculty at the University of Padova in 1998 as Assistant Professor and from 2006 she is Associate Professor in Neurology. From 2013 she Director of the Neurology Resident Program at the University of Padova and Director of the Neuromuscular Unit and Neuromuscular Bank of Tissues and DNA samples, TNGB at the AOP-University of Padova.
The Neuromuscular Unit of the AOP- University of Padova runs a large neuromuscular patients out-clinic implementing a multidisciplinary approach and applying gold standard of care. The neuromuscular unit is involved in several clinical and basic research projects as well as several clinical trials.
She has several publications on international and national scientific journals and she is member of numerous Scientific Societies.
