Cristina Dominguez Gonzalez

Dr. Cristina Domínguez-González graduated from the University of Oviedo (Spain), underwent training in Neurology at the Hospital 12 de Octubre in 2004, and since then has worked in the Neuromuscular Unit of the same center. She specialized in Genetic Myopathies, especially those of Metabolic and Mitochondrial origin. She obtained her Doctorate degree from the Complutense University in 2020 with a Doctoral Thesis on Precision Medicine in Mitochondrial Myopathies (Treatment of TK2 deficiency with nucleosides).
Currently, Dr. Domínguez-González leads a multidisciplinary clinical and research group at the Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid that has been designated as a National Reference Center of Spain (CSUR) and is part of the research group on metabolic and mitochondrial diseases led by Dr. Martín Casanueva, which is integrated into the Research Center of the Biomedical Network in Rare Diseases (CIBERER, https://www.ciberer.es/en).
