João Miguel Alves Ferreira

João Ferreira is the recipient of two National Academic Merit Scholarships from the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES) (one awarded and another to be awarded in 01/2025). He has received a merit commendation from the Centre for Statistics and Applications of the University of Lisbon (CEAUL). He is a member of the “Museums and Well-Being – Prescribing Culture” project at the National Museum of Natural History and Science (MUHNAC) of the University of Lisbon and the Lisbon Botanical Garden. João is Portuguese Delegate for the European Youth Parliament. He has won 3 Marie Sklodowska-Curie research grants and is a contracted researcher at ULisboa. He is also an author and co-author of several indexed publications and a Certified Wiley Reviewer for the Stress and Health journal. João has served on the organising committee for national and international science communication conferences and events, such as the European Researchers’ Night at ULisboa 2022, 2023, and 2024, the ReMO International Congress on Mental Health 2023, the FMUC Pick-Nic with Health, Management Summit, among others. He is a member of 17 international associations in the fields of Medicine, Psychology, Neuroscience, Neurology, among others. João is an authorised translator for TREAT-NMD and ERN-RND, translating medical support works on rare diseases into Portuguese (13 works).
