ACMT-Rete

ACMT-Rete was founded in June 2001 and is a national Voluntary Organization (VO) made by patients and of patients. It is the most active Italian association for Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) in terms of education and information. It addresses those affected by the disease and their families with the following aims:

  • To promote information and training projects, in order to increase skills and knowledge related to the treatment of the disease and similar syndromes, through the organization of annual training courses aimed at physicians and physical therapists, participation in congresses, visits to specific centers, research funding and scholarships, dissemination of explanatory brochures, the Internet and the Mass Media;

 

  • Fostering the emergence of public or contracted centers for diagnosis and treatment that can work collaboratively with each other. Also thanks to us, today there are specialized centers distributed throughout Italy;

 

  • Develop the meeting and confrontation between people with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease and their families, through means of communication and moments of socialization and information, such as the annual congresses organized, the website and social networks (Facebook and Instagram), regional and provincial meetings;
    to be a point of information and promotion of laws in favor of the disabled, working in collaboration with other associations and public bodies.
