Exciting Opportunity for HPCs: Apply for the 2026 On-Site Muscle and Nerve MRI Training
ERN EURO-NMD invites its Healthcare Providers to apply for the On-site Muscle and Nerve Imaging Training Programme, starting in May 2026. The deadline for applications is 31 March 2026 (23:59 CET). Selection will be conducted in April, with activation anticipated from May 2026 onwards.
Programme Overview, Training Scope and Selection Process
Selected centres will host a 1–2 day on-site visit from expert trainers with extensive experience in neuromuscular MRI. The training is designed to be practical, interactive and tailored to the host centre’s needs. It will focus on optimising acquisition protocols, improving image interpretation, discussing challenging cases, and integrating imaging into clinical decision-making and research pathways.
This initiative aims to strengthen local expertise, harmonise practices across the network, and support centres in developing sustainable, high-quality neuromuscular MRI activity.
Training Scope (Muscle MRI or Nerve MRI adjustable to local needs)
- Sequence and protocol optimisation
- Image processing and quantitation
- Quality-control procedures
- Diagnostic case discussions
Eligibility Criteria
- Be an ERN EURO-NMD HCP
- Possibility of having two MRI scanner slots of 2 hours each
- Disposing of an experienced MRI technologist available at the console
- A meeting room for lectures and discussions
The application process will follow two steps:
Step one: Submission of the proposal (please find template following the link)
Step two: Shortlisted centres will be invited to a structured interview with Dr Pierre Carlier, organiser of the training and Chair of the ERN EURO-NMD Neuromuscular Imaging Specialised Group.
