The 31st Annual Congress of the World Muscle Society (WMS) will take place from 29 September to 3 October 2026 in Hiroshima, Japan.

Bringing together clinicians, researchers, healthcare professionals and trainees from around the world, the WMS Congress is a major international meeting dedicated to advances in neuromuscular diseases, muscle research and patient care.

The 2026 Congress will feature a rich scientific and educational programme covering cutting-edge research, clinical developments and emerging approaches in myology, alongside opportunities for international collaboration, networking and mentoring across generations.

This edition will also mark the second WMS Congress to be held in Asia, following the 2010 meeting in Kumamoto. With representatives from Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan and Thailand involved in the Local Organising Committee, WMS 2026 aims to further strengthen collaboration and the development of myology across the region.

Hosting the Congress in Hiroshima, an international symbol of peace and cooperation, also reflects the importance of global collaboration in advancing research and care for rare neuromuscular diseases.
