For the first time, three European Reference Networks – ERN EURO-NMD, ERN-RND and EpiCARE – are joining forces to organise a joint scientific conference bringing together expertise in rare neuromuscular diseases, rare neurological diseases and rare and complex epilepsies.
Under the overarching theme “Shaping the Future of Rare Neurological Diseases”, the Neuro-ERNs Joint Conference 2027 aims to create a unique European forum for multidisciplinary exchange, collaboration and innovation across the field of rare neurology.
Celebrating 10 Years of European Collaboration
As the European Reference Networks mark their 10th anniversary in 2027, this conference will provide an opportunity to reflect on a decade of collaboration and key achievements, while exploring the priorities and synergies that will shape the future of rare neurological care and research in Europe.
By combining the strengths and expertise of the three networks, the conference reflects a shared ambition to address major scientific, clinical and organisational challenges in the field.
Four Major Scientific Themes
The scientific programme, currently under development, will be structured around four major cross-cutting themes:
- Genetic Testing & Screening
- Innovative Genetic Therapies
- Clinical Trials & Translational Research
- Multidisciplinary Management
Alongside scientific advances, discussions will address the policy and sustainability challenges associated with implementing these innovations in clinical practice across Europe.
The conference will feature a fully plenary scientific programme, encouraging exchanges and discussions across all three networks and their respective areas of expertise.
Bringing Together the European Rare Neurology Community
With more than 400 participants expected from across Europe, the Neuro-ERNs Joint Conference 2027 will bring together leading clinicians, researchers, allied healthcare professionals and patient representatives actively involved in the three ERNs.
Internationally recognised experts, representatives of European institutions and other key stakeholders will also contribute to the discussions, creating opportunities to exchange knowledge, strengthen collaborations and help shape the future of rare neurological care and research.
