Urs Kleinholdermann is the father of a child affected by a Collagen VI (COL6)-related muscular dystrophy. He is actively involved in patient advocacy through the German Society for Muscle Diseases (DGM e.V.), where he serves as chairman in the region of Hesse and as vice-chair of the COL6-related dystrophies subgroup. He is a psychiatry specialist and currently works as a neurology resident, with a background in natural sciences and psychology. His work focuses on movement disorders, combining clinical practice with research in human movement and neurophysiology. He is particularly interested in improving patient-centered care, advancing research, and strengthening collaboration between clinicians, researchers, and patient communities, bringing both professional expertise and personal experience to his engagement in the neuromuscular field.
