Dr. Ramon Martí

Dr. Ramon Martí (PhD) is the Head of the Research Group on Neuromuscular and Mitochondrial Diseases (Vall d’Hebron Research Institute, VHIR, Barcelona). His group has been working in the study of the pathomechanisms of mitochondrial DNA depeltion/deletions syndromes (MDDS) and therapy approaches over more than twenty years. This includes gene therapy for Mitochondrial Neurogastrointestinal Encephalomyopathy (MNGIE) and the proposal of the use of deoxyribonucleosides for different MDDS-forms.
