Assoc.Prof. Habil. Raluca Ioana Teleanu

I am a pediatric neurologist and Professor at the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, currently serving as Head of the Pediatric Neurology Department at “Dr. Victor Gomoiu” Children’s Hospital in Bucharest. My professional journey has been dedicated to advancing care for children with neurological disorders, with a special focus on rare diseases and neuromuscular disorders.

I coordinate the Center of Expertise for Rare Neurological Diseases within our hospital and have recently taken on the role of Coordinator of the World Duchenne Organisation Accredited Center (since February 2025). My work is also deeply rooted in supporting the transition of patients with neurological conditions from childhood to adulthood, a topic I have explored in my academic contributions and medical practice.

Beyond clinical work, I am actively involved in medical education and research. I have organized and participated in numerous national and international conferences. I also lead Neurocare, an association that supports young medical professionals through study scholarships under the #burseneurocare initiative.

My research interests span neuromuscular diseases, neurogenetics, and nanomedicine, with numerous scientific publications in high-impact journals. I am committed to both advancing knowledge in pediatric neurology and mentoring the next generation of specialists in the field.
