Prof Laurent Magy

Professor Laurent Magy is a neurologist, currently Professor of Neurology at Limoges University Hospital. He is in charge of the neuromuscular diseases reference centre (AOC-FILNEMUS) at Limoges University Hospital. Professor Magy has held a number of positions, including that of Hospital Practitioner at Limoges University Hospital from 2001 to 2008, and Assistant Head of Clinic at Limoges University Hospital from 1999 to 2001. His initial training in neurology was at Paris VI from 1991 to 1998, and he obtained his doctorate in Science in 2003 from the University of Paris VI.
His main clinical and research interests focus on peripheral nerve pathologies, inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system and clinical neuroimmunology in general. Prof. Magy began his research on remyelination of the central nervous system and then turned his attention to peripheral nerve pathologies, in particular immune-mediated neuropathies, neuropathies associated with haematological disorders and small-fibre neuropathies.
