Federico Zaottini

 Dr. Federico Zaottini was born on March 10, 1988, in Ceva, Italy. He earned his medical degree from the University of Genoa in 2013, where he also completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology in 2019. From April 2019 to October 2019 ha completed an observership in Musculoskeletal Radiology at the Department of Radiology of University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (US) under the mentorship of Professor J.A Jacobson. In 2022, he obtained a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Genoa. 

Since 2020, Dr. Zaottini has served as a staff radiologist at San Martino University Hospital in Genoa. In 2024, he was appointed Assistant Professor at the University of Genoa. 

His clinical and research activities focus primarily on musculoskeletal and peripheral nerve imaging, with a particular emphasis on ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. He works in close collaboration with Professor Carlo Martinoli. 

Dr. Zaottini has a strong academic track record, with more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed international medical journals. He has been invited speaker at numerous international conferences and courses, including those organized by the European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR) and the European Federation of Societies for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology (EFSUMB). 

He is an active member of several professional societies, including the Italian Society of Medical and Interventional Radiology (SIRM), the European Society of Radiology (ESR), and the ESSR, where he contributes to the Ultrasound Subcommittee.
