Dario Ronchi

I’m associate professor of neurology at University of Milan (Department of Pathophysiology and Transplantation) and a principal investigator at Dino Ferrari Center, a university research centre dedicate to the diagnosis and therapy of neuromuscular and neurodegenerative disorders. I’m a biologist with a specialization in Medical Genetics working in the Neurology Unit (Laboratory of biochemistry and genetics of neuromuscular disorders) in Policlinico hospital (a research hospital in the center of Milan). My interest is to investigate etiology and pathogenesis underlining neuromuscular disorders. This task is accomplished by the combined use of biochemical and molecular techniques together with clinical and instrumental findings for the identification and prioritization of candidate variants emerging from NGS diagnostic protocols. A similar approach is used to highlight the pathological changes occurring patients’ cells and tissues aiming to identify novel targets relevant for the disease.
