EURO-NMD is pleased to announce the renewal of its agreement with the European Molecular Genetics Quality Network (EMQN) for another year.
As part of this collaboration, EURO-NMD will cover the registration fees for up to 30 laboratories affiliated with EURO-NMD Healthcare Providers wishing to participate in the 2027 Neuromuscular Disorders External Quality Assessment (EQA) Scheme.
Laboratories interested in participating are invited to complete the Expression of Interest form:

Please note that, should the number of applications exceed the available funded places, a selection process may be required.
Neuromuscular Disorders EQA Scheme
Since 2026, the former Duchenne/Becker Muscular Dystrophy Scheme and Rare Neuromuscular Disease Panel Scheme have been combined into a single Neuromuscular Disorders Scheme.
Participating laboratories can register for one of the following options:
- DMD/BMD Targeted Testing only
- Neuromuscular Disease (NMD) Gene Panel Testing only
- Neuromuscular Disease (NMD) Gene Panel Testing + DMD/BMD Targeted Testing
Expected timeline for the 2027 scheme
- Registration: early September – end of November 2026
- Sample distribution: January 2027
- Completion of the scheme: July 2027
