The Board of Member States (BOMS), convened in Rome in 2025, has formally endorsed the launch of a new Call for Affiliated Partners within the European Reference Networks (ERNs). This initiative represents an important step towards strengthening collaboration and further expanding the impact of the ERN ecosystem.
As per the conditions and criteria defined by the European Commission, only countries not currently covered by the network and without Full Members are eligible to submit applications. For ERN EURO-NMD, the eligible countries are:
- Croatia
- Romania
- Slovakia
Call timeline
- 13 April 2026: Official launch of the call
- 13 April – 1 September 2026: BOMS submission period
- September 2026: Eligibility check of applications
- October 2026 – January 2027: ERN assessments and reviews
- March 2027: Endorsement by the BOMS meeting
- April 2027: Submission of signed bilateral cooperation agreements
- April 2027: End of the call
Objective of the call
The aim of this call is to enable the integration of new Affiliated Partners in order to strengthen European cooperation in the field of rare neuromuscular diseases and to further enhance the reach and impact of the ERN EURO-NMD network.
