Dr Nur Villar-Quiles

I completed my medical studies in Barcelona, followed by a neurology residency in Madrid. I then joined the “Myologie Fondamentale et Translationnelle” laboratory at Université de Paris, led by Ana Ferreiro, where I obtained my PhD focusing on the phenotype, pathophysiology, and genetics of congenital myopathies with neurominicores.

Subsequently, I completed clinical training in neuromuscular disorders as a junior neurologist and electromyographer at the neuromyology department of Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital. Since 2024, I combine clinical practice in this department with teaching and research activities at Sorbonne University.

My clinical expertise includes myopathies, congenital myasthenic syndromes, and muscle channelopathies. My research activity is rooted in a translational approach, bridging fundamental science and clinical research, with a particular focus on congenital myopathies and congenital myasthenic syndromes.
