Multidisciplinary Management and Care Working Group
The Working Group is dedicated to promoting high-quality, harmonized, and evidence-based multidisciplinary care for people living with neuromuscular diseases (NMDs) across the ERN EURO-NMD network. It facilitates international collaboration and promotes patient- and family-centred care. The working group strives to integrate the principles of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) into multidisciplinary care, emphasizing functioning, participation, environmental factors, and quality of life alongside disease management.
The working group is open to all healthcare professionals involved in the management and care of NMDs. It brings together expertise from rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, dietetics, nursing, psychological care, social work, neurocognitive aspects, and palliative care. Through multidisciplinary collaboration, the group aims to strengthen clinical practice, education, and research, ultimately improving health outcomes and quality of life for people living with NMDs across Europe.
