Professor Andoni Echaniz-Laguna, MD, PhD, is a neurologist in the Department of Neurology at Bicêtre University Hospital, Paris, France. Dr. Echaniz-Laguna completed postgraduate training in Neurology at Strasbourg University Hospital, France, Lariboisière University Hospital, Paris, France, Bicêtre University Hospital, Paris, France, and Uppsala University Hospital, Sweden. He has published more than 180 original articles and reviews in the field of neuromuscular disorders. Much of his research has focused on classification, treatment and molecular studies of neuromuscular disorders such as inherited and inflammatory myopathies, motor neuron disease, and inherited and inflammatory neuropathies, including Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) disease and hereditary transthyretin-mediated (hATTR) amyloidosis. He joined the French National Reference Center for Rare Neuropathies at Bicêtre University Hospital, Paris, in 2018.
